In the school year of 2010/11, our school started the Intensive English programme as a school project (Schulversuch). This project is funded by the Lower Austria Board of Education (Bildungsdirektion für NÖ.)

The Intensive English programme has three English lessons per week integrated into the school curriculum in subjects such as General Knowledge, Math and Physical Education(PE).

Our main teaching approach to the acquisition of the English language is the use of the Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) method. CILL has become the umbrella term describing both learning another (content) subject such as General Knowledge or Math or PE through the medium of a foreign language and learning a foreign language by studying a content-based subject.

A formal assessment of the pupils´English language proficiency is not a part of our English programme.
However, a general feedback on the invididual pupil’s performance, if so desired, could be accquired by parents at the two Meet-the-Parents sessions during the school year.
